Merci Mon Cheri

Yes this tee is everywhere, yes I still had to have it. What can I say, it's a lot cheaper than the Gucci tee it's obviously modelled after! Anywhere, here's another outfit from my trip to Barcelona. I ditched the floaty dresses and playsuits and went for a classic tee and denim combo...

A Purifying Cleanser to Try

I've been faithful to the Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel for nearly two years now, but as I was running low I had the bizarre notion to try something new. As you guys might now, I've been struggling with a lot of breakouts on my skin recently, and even though I don't think the Oskia is causing it at all, I didn't think it would hurt to try something that supposedly helps with problem skin. And guess what, I actually really like it...

The Bardot Dress of Dreams

This post is a shout out to all the people out there with big boobs who just can't wear bardot tops or dresses. You know the struggle - you can't wear them with a normal bra, strapless bras suck (or maybe that one is just on me!), and often going braless means a weird shapeless mess that ruins that style of the top. But your prayers have been answered folks, because this dress is a good'un...

That Midi Skirt Again

Let's kick off my Barcelona outfit posts with something you've seen before. Yep, it's that skirt again. I know I posted an outfit featuring this midi skirt not too long ago, but I like to keep things real here and show you all what I actually wear. And I actually wear this skirt a lot because it's so damn pretty and effortless. Here's how I styled it...

Barcelona in Snapshots

Of course I had to put a post together about my trip to Barcelona! I wouldn't call this a guide, as I've not got a big list of everything we did, but I do still want to share the trip and offer a few suggestions (and an excuse to share pretty photos). I've tried to limit the pictures as much as possible but it's such a gorgeous place, I couldn't resist throwing a lot in! It was a lovely trip and I really want to go back already, so it was fun to reminisce over the sights. Here goes...

Barcelona in Outfits

As some of you may know, I went to Barcelona! I've got a post coming up telling you all about the sights (and food), but for now I wanted to do a little post on my outfits. There will be some upcoming posts with all the deets on my personal faves, but for now here's a glance at everything I wore in the prettiest city...

Holiday Beauty Essentials

As this post goes live, I'm getting ready to head back to Scotland after a week in Barcelona! While I'm in the midst of packing, I thought I'd give a run down of my favourite beauty bits I'm taking to deal with the heat. It's mainly an excuse to show off the travel minis...

The July Post

So June was a weird month. I handed my notice in at work, booked a holiday (which I'm currently on!) and finally started packing up my bedroom in the flat I can't stand. It was filled with some gorgeous sunny days but also some downpours in which aforementioned work flooded. So, while I sun myself - thank heavens for scheduled posts - here's a look at the month ahead...

On Being Cool

I never think of myself as particularly adventurous. I've always had a pretty casual style but when I look amongst the black, white and grey, I do find that I have a tendency to wear some slightly quirkier pieces. Cue photos of me taken in my happy place, Waterstones...

The Warm Eyeshadow Palette You Need

It's no secret that I love Urban Decay eyeshadow palettes, although I've not been excited by them for a good couple of years now. I locked down Naked 1 and Naked 2, but then wasn't fussed about any others, and although the all matte Ultimate Basics palette is gorgeous, I knew I didn't need it. But, when I saw the photos of the Naked Heat palette, I knew I had to have it...

Summer Nail Picks

It's no secret I love a good nail polish, and a mixture of brights and muted tones often don my nails all year round. When summer makes an appearance I do particularly love egging on the sun with some peppier picks though, so that's what this post is all about. You don't need to guess my favourite formulas...

Moving On

In January I wrote a post about how my life had been turned upside down with a horrible situation with my flatmates. Now that I'm in the midst of packing up my room, I've been thinking about how I can't wait until the date I get to leave this place. I wanted to write something so that this 'journey' isn't open-ended on my blog, and so I can get these thoughts out of my head and move on...

A Simplified Skincare Routine

My skin has been a bit of a nightmare in the past few months. It gradually become less dry and leaned more towards combination, which is fine, but then all of a sudden it started breaking out. In an attempt to try and help it topically as much as I could, I decided to simplify my skincare routine, so here's a look at what I'm using...

A Glowing YSL Base

Some of you may know I went to Suzie's Complexion Masterclass with YSL last month, where I was lucky enough to chat with her and the makeup artists about all things base. To read about the day take a look at my recap post, but for now let's look at my favourite products for a gorgeous complexion that I left with...

How to Survive Festivals if You're Anxious or Claustrophobic

Hey, festival season is beginning! While some people live for gigs and festivals where they can be deep in the crowds or right at the front of the stage, some of us just can't handle that atmosphere. I'm not a huge festival goer (I've only been to one) but I really wanted to put this post together for like-minded people. Whether it's because you have anxiety, feel claustrophobic, just hate crowds or are new to festivals or gigs, then I have a couple tips...

An Easy Breezy Summer Outfit

When it comes to summer (Scottish summer, that is) you can usually get away with jeans and a tee on sunny days. But sometimes we're greeted with a heatwave, and skin tight jeans just won't cut it. I thought one of these rare days coupled with a walk to the Botanic Gardens would be a great day to test out my new favourites; some super flowy striped trousers. Paired with a boxy crop top and trainers, this was a really simple outfit that featured no tight or clingy clothes. Perfect for a super hot day. We may have gone a little snap happy..

The June Post

Well, May was a hectic month. I had a few birthday parties, found out I need to search for a new job after only two months of working at my current place because the store is closing, and I won an award! I was so surprised and pleased to find out that I won Best Section for my uni's magazine at our media awards - I'm so proud that something I worked my butt off on is getting recognition! Anyway, here's a look at the month ahead...

My Favourite Way to Tan

It's only in the last couple years that I've really got into fake tan, and only in the past six months or so that I've been applying it regularly. I don't have a problem with my pale skin at all, but I find I just feel much happier and look healthier with a tan! So, here's the one I've been besotted with...

The Perfect 21st Birthday Gift

I think everyone around here knows that I'm not a very blingy girl. When it comes to glitter I'm all in, but jewellery is always very paired back and simple when I have my say. However, when my mum announced that for my 21st birthday she wanted her and my dad to gift me with a ring, I was more than happy to trot around jewellers to look for something special...

The May Post

April was a strange mixture of hectic and happy. I finished with uni for 3rd year, found out what modules I'll be taking in 4th year, had a tour of my uni's anatomy department and saw a dead body (!!), and started a new job. It looks like May is shaping up to be not quite as weird, but here's a look at what I've got planned anyway...

My Tattoo Experience >> From Booking to Aftercare

Me being me, I had read and watched countless tattoo experience blog posts and videos before getting my own, and so I wanted to throw in my share too. I'm going to preface this post by saying that the internet is a very scaremongering place. I wasn't scared about getting a tattoo - I was sure about what I wanted and where I wanted it, and I trusted the artist that I had met previously when booking the appointment - but I was beginning to dread the aftermath. Everyone has an opinion on how to look after tattoos, what you can and cannot do, and let's not even start with the pain scale. But anyway, here is my experience with any tips I have thrown in...

The April Post

Oh you bet I fell for the hype with this one. The Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel is raved about all over the internet, and it was something I always longed for but passed up due to the price - nearly £30 is a lot for a cleanser. However I've got to say, it is totally worth the money. Onto the rave...

Something I've Been Working On

Some of you may already know that I've been working at my university's student run magazine for a few months now. As we have finally got all of the recent issues of Magdalen online, I wanted to make a quick post to let you all know! I'm not being asked to promote it, but I and the rest of the team are so proud of our magazine so I'd love it to reach a wider audience than our campus. I've also had a few friends from online ask if they can read it, so I'm happy I can finally share it.

3 Years of Blogging, 2016 Chat, & Lessons Learned

This is a bit of a strange post. Mostly because my last is dated from the 28th June, but also because I wanted to take a more personal approach and talk about my life. Today marks emiloue's 3rd year anniversary, and with it also being the start of 2017 I have been doing a lot of reflecting on my 2016. This isn't a recap or a resolutions post, and I'm sure it'll be greatly ignored, but this is one of those cases where I have to write this for myself.
