A Christmas Day Candy Cane Outfit

Merry (belated) Christmas! I don't know about you, but I always spend weeks planning what I'm going to wear on Christmas Day. I think it's because I would always be so excited for the day as a child - wearing a pretty dress and slipping around the floor in white tights. Not much has changed, let's be real...

Accessories to Amp Up an Outfit

Whether it's this festive season, or any old night out, I do sometimes struggle with turning an outfit into something special. I'm a jeans and jumper girl at heart, and although I love a bit of glitz, it's something I often drop into my casual daily outfits - meaning I don't have many "dressy" clothes. When it comes to dressing up, sometimes it isn't all about going for a killer dress. For me, the key to amping up an outfit is the accessories worn with it, so here are my favourites...

A Christmas Day Lip Edit

Perhaps not everyone thinks about their lipstick choices as much as I do, but when I have a full day of festivities on the horizon I definitely give what lipstick I'm going to wear a second thought. Do you go totally festive with a glossy red lip? Give up and just whack on a lip balm? Here's my shortlist for the day, if you will...

Winter Skincare Faves

Ah winter, how my skin hates you. We all know the struggle - a mixture of the harsh weather, bad diet, going in and out of hot buildings and snow, and the stress of shopping in busy stores leads to not-so-great skin. I find things go a bit lacklustre, but I will say I think I'm managing to combat it pretty well thus far! Here are my go-to products to help...

The Easiest Method for Pastel Pink Hair

I've dabbled in pink hair in the past, but those of you who follow me on Instagram may have noticed that I've given it another shot. Instead of using temporary/semi-permanent dyes like I have before, I opted for something new (to me) this time round. And I've got to say guys, it's the simplest way I've found so far, and my favourite...

The December Post (& A Christmas Playlist!)

It's my last Monthly Post of 2017! I'm currently deciding what my 2018 Monthly Posts will be, whether I'm switching up the format or just getting rid for something new! However, let's talk about my November. I'll be totally honest, I can barely remember anything except working on my final Creative Writing folio and another essay for my Victorian Literature module. I think I've spent more time sitting at my desk than anything else... fun. Anyway, it's time to look at the month ahead for the last time this year, and I've chucked on a Christmas playlist at the end for you all...

A Party Season Wishlist

It's always a difficult question to answer - what season do you prefer dressing for? After a lot of thought, and the realisation that I had been browsing ASOS and Topshop for hours, it came to me - I love winter fashion. The cosy jumpers and coats and boots, yes, but also the party wear. Here's a wishlist for you, the items I'm lusting after, and a few I've already bought...

The November Post

Oh October, I swear you were only a week long. I know everyone says it, but this year has gone by so fast and this month barely existed as far as I'm concerned! I sadly didn't get to go on my Amsterdam trip but I still managed to have a productive week off uni, although I'm wishing I'd found some time to relax too because this month is bound to be a stressful one. Here's what I've got going on...

Glossier: The No-Makeup Makeup Brand

Glossier is shipping to the UK! I'm sure everyone reading this knows already, but it's still pretty exciting. I used restraint when ordering and only picked up the Phase 2 Set, Milky Jelly Cleanser and Balm Dotcom. I'm going to save the details of the skincare bits until I've tried more out - I'm looking at both of those masks - but I do have to say I'm a fan! Today however, let's talk Glossier makeup...

Currently Listening To... #2

I know I've mentioned before that I've got a pretty eclectic music taste, but I feel like this past month or so's picks are particularly varied! The October Post

A few days late, but who's counting? For once, I'm really stuck while writing this post. Normally I give a quick overview of the previous month, and talk about my goals for the month to come, and it's all fine and dandy. But in September I went through a breakup and started my final year of uni within five days, signed up for a bunch of uni events I never normally would, and had a mighty cold for a good week+ of it. I've just been in a strange mood between pushing myself to make this year great, and wallowing in self pity because a massive chunk of my life is now gone. But anyway, I do have plans for this month, so here's what I've got on...

The Podcasts You Should Be Listening To

I'm such a huge fan of podcasts. As an 'I need a tv show on in the background' person, I love having conversations going on while I'm going through my day, whether it's blogging, cooking, putting away my laundry, walking to and from uni - the list goes on. So, as a self-pronounced podcast expert, here are the ones you need to give a go...

How to Make a Rented Flat Feel Like Home

As you may already know, I recently moved flat and so I've been in full decorating mode. I've moved five times in the last four years between student accommodation and rented flats so I've gained quite the bit of experience in decorating those awful magnolia walls. My room doesn't look exactly how I'd want it to in a place I owned, but I am pretty happy with how I've made it a comfortable and inviting place. Here are my tips to stop your rented room feeling like an non-permanent place, and more like home...

Everyday Makeup Loves

Here's a simple post for you, the makeup I'm currently wearing most days! In short, I've been enjoying a simple but bronzy base, a sheer wash of pearly colour over the eyes, and a pinky nude lip. It's the kind of look that suits most occasions, and can be amped up with a stronger lip or winged liner if you want to take it from day to night...

The September Post

August included moving back to Dundee and settling into my new flat, working my uni's open day and getting to tell a whole bunch of worried applicants and parents about my amazing course, and soaking up lots of family time before I and everyone else get back into the swing of non-holiday life. And as cliche as it sounds, I can't believe it's September already! I'm actually looking forward to having a proper schedule again, but wow did summer go by quickly. Photography Backdrops on Your Doorstep

Sponsored post

I've been blogging for a few years now, but I won't lie, one thing I still struggle with is finding a perfect backdrop for my fashion photography. I often got by in the early days in my bedroom or back garden with a tripod, but since moving to a city and being in rented flats with small bedrooms and no gardens, I've had to learn the art of scouting locations. Today's post, brought to you by Panasonic, features a few of my suggestions for places you can find in just about any city...

Currently Listening To...

I feel like music is something sorely lacking from this blog. I love music. I'm the kind of person who can hear a song and immediately recall a certain memory, person or emotion associated with that song, and whose Spotify saved list and vinyl collection grows pretty rapidly. I actually added a lil' Spotify playlist at the bottom of my sidebar a few months ago of a few pretty songs to listen to as you browse!
