Now, I'm not sure how long this will last, but it actually feels as if it's getting a little bit warmer here. I like the transition between Winter and Spring because it gives me the option to wear more colours while also still wearing layers. And I love layering clothes.
I am wearing:
Top // Topshop
Cardigan // H&M
Scarf // Handmade (by my mother)
Disco pants // Topshop
Boots // Rocket Dog
Bracelet // Kukee
This outfit is pretty simple, but I think it's a nice option to go for in this period. While everything else is black, the Aztec/Geometric print gives a subtle pop of colour which isn't actually a very frequent occurrence in my wardrobe. Under the floaty, cami-like top I am wearing a thin tank top for a little added warmth, and when I was outside I slung my Topshop parka on to stay cosy. I think the trick at this time in the year is to begin wearing more Spring/Summery clothes, but to also keep at it with the layering!
I'm sure I'll be featuring more transitional outfits like this, as Scotland tends to always be in a state of transition between its many Winters. I really like making OOTD posts as I just get to show you my favourite items of clothing. If you have any other tips for changing up outfits between seasons then leave a comment below!

I didn't intend to be dressed practically head to foot in H&M today, but alas, it happened. I like mixing textures, and thought the knit of the jumper against the heart stitching on the skirt was so cute.
I've been on a real Lydia Martin/Holland Roden (Teen Wolf fan, anyone?) kick recently, I just love her style so much and wanted to start incorporating it into my everyday outfits. I also get told I look like her, which is about the best compliment anyone can give me. That also explains my hairstyle, I was trying to recreate Lydia's look from Monday night's episode. I think I sort of succeeded! I'm considering making a little hair tutorial on now I achieved the look, so look out for that sometime soon.
P.S. Kukee's items are all £2.50 or under right now, you should go grab yourself a bargain while you can!
P.P.S. Look at that furry hood, man. It's the cosiest thing ever.
And, I would like to thank you all. Sunday marked the one month birthday of my blog and I am so grateful for all the followers and pageviews I have gained along the way. Every time I see a new follower or comment or see the stats graph spike a little higher each day it makes me so happy, and I am pleased (and surprised) that people actually seem to enjoy my little blog.
I have lots of fun blogging and although followers and the like aren't what's important, it really spurs me on to create (what it hopefully) great content for you all. I hope I'll be able to get to know you more too. It's still early days but I just wanted to give everyone a big thanks!
When I dress for a day at college, comfort is my main objective. Which is why I was so happy to be able to wear my new Topshop riding pants out for the first time.
They are made with this gorgeous thick ribbed material, which makes them nice and warm for these winter months. The vertical lines plus the panelling at the knee area also do a really great job of making your legs look narrower and longer. I've only worn them casually so far (I've only had them a week) but I know they'll look amazing dressed up with the high waistline - they seem like a great alternative to disco pants which I basically live in so I can tell I'll get a lot of use out of them. I'll admit when I first tried them on I had to wiggle a little to get them up, but since that first time they've been a perfect fit!
Today I styled them with a massively oversized cream jumper (my gran actually knitted this for my dad about thirty years ago but I've claimed it as my own), my Hamsa Palm necklace from Kukee, and my favourite studded boots from Romwe. Everything worn is what I like to call my "ultimate comfort clothes".
And so ends my first OOTD post. I'm sure it will be the first of many. What do you like to wear when you dress purely for comfort and warmth? And what would you wear with these riding pants?

Hello! I can predict that as my first blog post this will be a long(ish) one, as I feel I must make introductions. I'm Emily, I'm 17, I'm from Scotland, and I'm very new to the blogging world. What's that phrase again, "long time reader, first time writing"? Because that's the situation I'm in right now. For the longest time I've been wanting to start a blog, but I've always been too scared to. However, the New Year Resolution hype caught me up, and I want to start taking more chances and doing things because I want to. No more, "I really want to do [insert wonderful plan here] but I don't know..." rubbish, it's time to start living.
I plan to blog about fashion mostly, although I do find writing about myself can be therapeutic, so for now I won't create a niche to be stuck in. On my Tumblr and Instagram I often post OOTDs, but I don't really go into as much detail as I would like to, and feel this is a better place to do that. To kick start I'd like to show you my Christmas Day outfit.
As you can see, my family went for a clothing theme this year. My deep red dress is from New Look and necklace from H&M. I really struggle to find dresses that fit my waist and aren't too long (I'm very petite - that's a story for another day) but this one fits perfectly! Moving on to New Year's Eve, and I went for a more casual outfit.
I went for this gorgeous silver velvet skirt from Topshop (still available) gifted to me from my parents, and a black 3/4 sleeve top I've had for a long time from H&M. I wore the same necklace from H&M, and some rings from Topshop, although they can't be seen in this photo. I also wore some sparkly black heels from Missguided, not pictured. It's a very simple outfit but I think the jewellery makes it party appropriate!
And so, on that note I shall end my first blog post. I promise not every one will be as long as this! And I shall be using my camera from now on, unfortunately the only photographs taken of my outfits this time round were on phones.
Why not leave me any suggestions of what you would like to see? Or how about letting me know what you wore while celebrating this holiday season?
