A Glowing YSL Base

Some of you may know I went to Suzie's Complexion Masterclass with YSL last month, where I was lucky enough to chat with her and the makeup artists about all things base. To read about the day take a look at my recap post, but for now let's look at my favourite products for a gorgeous complexion that I left with...

First up is the Touche Eclat Le Teint Foundation. This has a really great coverage but doesn't feel heavy at all - as someone who normally goes for light to medium bases I was a little worried I wouldn't enjoy this, but it's so lightweight to wear and is great for my skin which is currently recovering from a mass of breakouts. It covers my scarring while still being super comfortable and giving a glow. It also lasts amazingly, and I find it looks better throughout the day. I tend to apply it as I do with all my foundations, using a buffer brush to get the product covering the skin and blended, with a beauty blender bopped over top to make sure it's looking perfect.

Speaking of glow, the Touch Eclat Glow Shot in shade 2 was another favourite from the day. It's a gorgeous rose gold colour but it's actually perfect for paler complexions like me, compared to a lot of rose gold highlighters I've seen before. At the event, the makeup artist I was chatting with told me to mix some of it with the foundation to apply over the light layer I had already put on - and it really upped the glow in a non-greasy way. It looks so natural this way and some days I've been stopping there, but of course on others I've applied another little dab of just the highlighter on my cheekbones, nose and cupids bow - or some days for quickness I skip mixing it into the foundation and just apply it on top. The formula of this is gorgeous, it's fluid without feeling runny or greasy, and blends perfectly into the skin no matter whether you're using fingers, brushes or sponges.

I've used a couple YSL beauty products in the past, but it was so exciting to discover these new ones. I'm always an advocate for high end makeup as long as the quality is good, and I can't fault these ones at all. I'm just happy I was introduced to these via Suzie and the team!
